Last year, our club supported a District Grant for Stonebridge Elementary School. "Through this grant, referred to as the Read to Feed program, students were provided an incentive to reach reading goals and see their achievements rewarded through contributions to Heifer International".
A few of the highlights included:
- Small "stuffed bees" with a "beehive" container for kids to read with during the month of bees
- During the month of the cow, an inflatable cow stood atop the school entrance
- Outside speakers teaching kids the value of the current month's animal to our community
- A live petting zoo brought to the school as a year-end celebration for all that was learned through the year
- And of course, a contribution to Heifer International as the students reached their monthly reading goals
