Andersen Elementary 100th Birthday Open House Helpers Needed!
Greetings, Andersen Families ~
We are excited to include you in our Andersen Elementary 100th Birthday Open House taking place on Saturday, September 21 from 12:30-3:30. Each grade level has been assigned a decade in history to highlight in a classroom display that will be available to visitors on a "history stroll" throughout the building. There will also be a ceremony at 2:00 in the gym that will include musical performance by students who are available to attend the celebration with their parents. Here is how you can help:
Decade Room Volunteers: If you have a passion for history or if you are just interested in supporting this fun learning project for our students, please sign up to be a "Decade Room Volunteer." You will help the classroom teachers find some decade themed artifacts to display in their classrooms. You may also work with the students to do a little research about their decade, and help the students put information into a presentation that will be showing during the open house. (The presentation template is already--students just need to add information!). You may also help the teachers decorate and set-up the classroom prior to the open house, and monitor displays during the open house.
Additional 100th Helpers Assignments are listed in the sign-up!
Other ways you can help?
Bring your family to the Open House and be available for the ceremony before 2:00 so your Andersen student can perform with classmates during the ceremony
Please share any Andersen memorabilia and photos with us for displays. We are happy to work with you to include your items or photos of your items in our displays. Contact Brenda in the office if you have something to share: 651-351-6600.
Invite community members to join in the fun so they can see what Pony Pride looks like at Andersen Elementary School!
