Why did you join/what keeps you in Rotary?
I was invited to join by Tracey Galowitz and Peter Clements, who are the best Rotary ambassadors! New in my role at the Foundation, I was looking to further my professional relationships in the Valley. I attended a few meetings as a guest and was inspired by the Club’s extensive engagement in the community with service projects and speaker series. Also, when I joined, the welcome line (where I got to shake everyone’s hand) was the highlight of my month – what a way to build a belonging community with new members!

Family, important people in your life?
My husband Michael and I live in St. Anthony Village with our 11-year old son, Connor. Michael works at the U of M’s Veterinary Medical Center in client relations. Connor enjoys basketball, swimming, and playing the trombone. Outside of all the kiddo activities, we delight spending time together outside and much of our outdoor playground is in the Valley canoeing and camping on the St. Croix or getting lost on trails at Wild River state park.

Favorite Rotary project, memory, or thing you are proud of?
I’m impressed by the vast number of opportunities to become involved in our community through the Club. I had an opportunity to join the roadside clean-up in September, which was a joy to get to know others while cleaning up a stretch of our community. I’m also looking forward to bell ringing in December.

Fun Fact you want us to know?
My husband, Michael, and I like to joke that we’re “urban farmers”. Eight backyard chickens, named after the first ladies, provide our family not only daily eggs but loads of laughter. They’ve even learned how to coexist in harmony with our golden retriever. The hens are definitely at the top of pecking order in our backyard!
