Thank you to Scott Mercer our incoming president for leading the picnic and welcome to Molly Landgreen our new vice president. Thank you to Jerry Maier and Dave Peterka for your service on the board, and welcome Gretchen Stein our new board member for 2026-2027. Congratulation to JERRY MAIER our 2026 Hank Sampson award winner. Jerry always steps up to help. Jerry exemplifies service above self.
With our new corporate membership Derrick and/or his staff will be attending the meetings.
Community Thread began in 1967 when a group of concerned citizens identified a problem: people who no longer were able to drive needed rides to medical appointments. Knowing that we live in a community where people care about each other, these caring community leaders recruited volunteers to address the need. As the founding concept of the organization, Community Thread continues to connect people with needs to volunteers willing to help. We also directly support older adults and their families needing resources and options to live independently.
For over 55 years, Community Thread has made our region a better place to live by providing opportunities to learn, socialize and stay engaged with older adult programs, transportation to doctor appointments, help with household chores and tax returns, and connections to volunteer opportunities.
It’s going to be a very fun Rotary year if today’s installation of Micheal-jon Pease as District Governor for 2026-2027 is any indication. Lots of St Paul Rotarians in attendance. The Mayor of St Paul spoke. Bev Driscoll, David Wettergren and Gretchen Stein attended on behalf of our club!
We are again looking for volunteers for our Bridge the Valley fundraiser coming up on Aug 9th. You and your members have been so helpful in past years, and I hope we can continue the same.
This is our only fundraiser and 100% of the funds go to do good in the world locally in Stillwater and beyond. If you would like to volunteer, please click the link below.
Thank you Dave Peterka, Scott Mercer and Katie Johnson for helping with the roadside clean-up
