Club Events

Many hands make light work! Thank you to the Rotarians who helped tackle our overgrown rain garden on August 27th. One hour made a HUGE difference.

A little rain and wind didn’t keep this group from smiling at the club social on Thursday, August 29th!

Read to Feed District Grant Thank You

Last year, our club supported a District Grant for Stonebridge Elementary School. "Through this grant, referred to as the Read to Feed program, students were provided an incentive to reach reading goals and see their achievements rewarded through contributions to Heifer International".

A few of the highlights included:

Small "stuffed bees" with a "beehive" container for kids to read with during the month of bees
During the month of the cow, an inflatable cow stood atop the school entrance
Outside speakers teaching kids the value of the current month's animal to our community
A live petting zoo brought to the school as a year-end celebration for all that was learned through the year
And of course, a contribution to Heifer International as the students reached their monthly reading goals

District Events

"Save the dates for the One Summit, a free peer learning opportunity for club leaders, newcomers and "sparkplugs" (you know who you are!). Experience the synergy of Membership + Public Image + Foundation to take your club to the next level"

One Rotary Summit will take place in Stillwater on September 26^th at 5:30 at Family Means. This is a great way to learn more about Rotary and we should have strong representation there for Membership, Public Image and Foundation Committees!

LAST MEETING: Last week Angie Hong spoke about her book, Exploring the St. Croix River Valley: Adventures on and off the Water. It explores the entire St. Croix River watershed area both on the water and on land (it is a lot bigger than one would think!).
