Jireh Mabamba spoke to the club about growing up in Congo. His father was a pastor and opposed the forcing of young boys to become child soldiers. His family fled to South Africa where they faced more discrimination. He was able to come to the United States through Rotary Youth Exchange and stayed for college and is now employed in the U.S.  Two of his sisters have come to the U.S. as well.

Mark your calendars - the 2018 Stillwater Rotary Taste of the Valley is set for January 26, 2018! 

 

There are some changes to our annual fundraising event.  After 10 successful years at the Grand Banquet Center we are moving the event to the Lake Elmo Inn Event Center.  The move has necessitated a name change.  This year are pleased to spotlight the St. Croix Valley Learning Center, Canvas Heath Crisis Connection, and our very own Juba Project; surrounding the theme and support for mental heath. 

 

         

 

 

 

Join us in increasing our local foundation giving!  Throughout the month of December, please consider bringing a check made payable to the St. Croix Valley Foundation.  Your donation is fully tax deductible.

 

Our club's website has a new look!  We made some slight changes to the website so that we are in line with Rotary's visual identity guidelines.  The changes allow for our website to be truly mobile compatible for visitors to navigate on their phones and tablets.  Please have patience as we continue working with and editing the new format.
