Last week's program included information about proposed bylaw changes, Stillwater Lights display, an update on the Juba, South Soudan Project, information about Senitizo a healthcare initiative in the Central African Republic, and an introduction by new member Laura Raduenz.
It is always interesting to see the impact in both old projects, new projects, local and world wide that Rotary has.
Our club started a Rotary Climate Action Team a few months ago. Wondering if your noon club has such a committee and if so, we'd like to propose some joint activities.
Thank you, Don Schuld, Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Climate Action Chair
Hello District 5960 Rotarians! You received an email invite (see below) for the Minnesota Veterans Rotary Club charter night from District 5950. I love this theme club idea so much, that I wish I had thought of it! That being said, we have an opportunity to piggy back on this new club by creating a satellite club in District 5960, and District 5580 will be pursuing the same. So what is a satellite club?
Satellite clubs provide another option for creating Rotary clubs. A satellite club functions as a short-term, transitional step on the way to becoming a full, independent Rotary club. This allows interested persons to become Rotarians without meeting the requirement of having at least 20 persons to organize a separate Rotary club.
I know you are thinking about how you can help. We are looking for a Champion and point of contact for this satellite club. The ideal person would be a veteran. The role is a temporary role with a TBD end date based on how long it takes to charter our own club. The District leadership, including Membership and the District Governor line, are here to support such a person. If you feel as strongly as I do that this is a great idea and that we need a club to help Minnesota veterans support and serve other Minnesota veterans, then we want to hear from you! If you are interested, or have any questions, please email me directly. Thank you.
