Along with the Lake Elmo and Stillwater Sunrise clubs, we welcomed the two exchange students our clubs are hosting for this school year.  Leyre is 15 and from Madrid and Kiryu is 18 and from Japan.  Both attended the Youth Exchange kick off event at the Mall of America on Saturday and started their school year at SAHS on Tuesday.   We hope they’ll be able to attend a club meeting soon so that we can all get to know them and welcome them to Stillwater! 

 

LAST MEETING: Laurann Kirschner with Bridge to Books

 

 

Laurann spoke to the club about the Imagination Library that is in the Stillwater school district, thanks to Bridge to Books. Our club is one of the founding supporters and it was great to hear an update about the progress of enrolling young readers into the program to receive free books.

 

Last week, the Social Committee and members of the club met at Papa's Rooftop to kick off the Rotary year with a club social and planning event. 

 

 

"Get to know you lunch" postponed until October.

 

The first "Get to know you lunch", will be held on Thursday, October 6th. Following that, it will be on the second Thursday of each month.

 

This new program will allow for members to get together on a more informal basis, with a smaller group of people (3-5 people).
