Hearts and Hammers
The Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club is sponsoring the 1st Annual Hearts & Hammers Day.

WHEN:  September 17, 2016
8:00 AM until about 4:00 PM
Be at the work site between 7:30 and 8:00 AM for registration and work prep

LOCATION:  2484 County Road D, Maplewood, MN (just west of Century Road, and just south of 694)

VOLUNTEERS:    We need about 30 volunteers for the job.  Volunteers must be over 12, and anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver.   You can register on-line.  Be sure to provide your T-shirt size when signing up or registering.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:   We be improving the entire outside of a house for a deserving gentleman who, due to physical limitations, can not maintain his own house any more.
We will be re-staining the soffets and front of a one-story house, as well as painting the siding on both sides and back of house.
We will also be painting window and door trim, as well as planting some shrubs and doing minor landscaping on the front of the house

WHAT TO WEAR:  Prepare for the weather, depending on the forecast for that day.  Otherwise, wear comfortable work clothes that you would not mind getting paint on.   Wear sturdy shoes in case you will be climbing ladders.   Bring work gloves and safety glasses if you have them.  If you don’t have them, some will be provided.   Hearts & Hammers T-shirts will be provided to all volunteers to wear for the project

FOOD:   Coffee and donuts will be provided at the start of the job, and lunch will also be provided

2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta
Stillwater Rotarians,

I encourage you all to consider Celebrating 100 Years of the Rotary Foundation at the 2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, June 10-14.

At the 1917 Rotary Convention in Atlanta, Rotary President Arch Klumph proposed creating an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.”  Let’s celebrate together in the city where it all began!

Did you know …

·         the Rotary Convention is for all Rotarians, providing ideas and inspiration for members whether it’s their first time or 15th time attending?

·         people from 130 countries typically attend convention, allowing you to network, meet new people, and make lasting friendships?

·         you can experience the warm hospitality of the American South and unique host tours and activities in Atlanta with club members and other Rotarians?

·         convention is not only fun, but it helps you advance your personal and professional development through workshops and breakout sessions?

·         the House of Friendship hosts hundreds of booths featuring Rotary Action Groups, Fellowships and the latest service projects?

Let's gather in Atlanta for the best and biggest party in 100 years.  Be sure to register before 15 December for best rates. Register now www.riconvention.org!
