Last Week's Program
Francis Gary Powers Jr. spoke to the club about his father's incredible story about being a CIA U-2 pilot and his capture by the USSR.  His father's story was the inspiration for the Steven Spielberg film Bridge Of Spies.  Gary Powers Jr. is the founder of the Cold War Museum which is located just outside of Washington D.C.  You can visit the website at www.coldwar.org.

Hearts and Hammers Volunteering Opportunity
Saturday, August 19th 
8am-4pm
935 6th Ave. S., Stillwater
 
Hearts and Hammers is a non-profit organization that provides exterior work for seniors in need or adults with a disability.  We will be partnering with Stillwater Sunrise Rotary to paint a home in Stillwater.  Please contact Shelley Pearson if you are able to help and the timeframe you will plan to attend.

We will not have our regular lunch meeting on Thursday, August 31st.  Instead, we will meet in the evening to tour the new Brookview Elementary School and the Pony Activity Center at SAHS.  More details to come!

Grant Given to PolliNation Festival
Our club gave a grant to this festival.  Our logo will be displayed on the press release and throughout the festival.
 
West Africa Project Fair
October 3-12, 2017
Accra, Ghana
$1,689 per person, double occupancy
 
This week-long trip is a hands-on experience in polio eradication, community service, friendships and learning how to support the Rotary projects of West Africa.   See Scott Mercer with questions.
